Hello a1234,

The ADC used in the PCI-6281 is the Successive-Approximation Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC).  See the following Knowledge base article to get more info on the ADC's used in different NI Data acquisition hardware.

I hope this helps!

To answer this question more precisely: The 16-bit M-Series PCI-6255, PCI-6259, and X-Series PCIe-6353 all use the Texas Instruments ADS8406 (ADS8406i). The 18-bit M-series cards (PCI-6281) use a similar ADC, probably the ADS8381.

Too bad that NI keeps overlooking the ADS1278, it would be perfect for an even better performing 24-bit, simultaneously sampling, 50kHz per input multifunction card. I am evaluating the ADS1278 presently, and it is clearly superior in my application.
