Description
A Gaussian filter is a filter whose impulse response is a Gaussian function. Gaussian filters are designed to give no overshoot to a step function input while minimizing the rise and fall time. This behavior is closely connected to the fact that the Gaussian filter has the minimum possible group delay. The distribution and the response of a Gaussian filter are shown below.
The Gaussian pulse signal is shaped as a Gaussian function and is produced by a Gaussian filter preserving its exact same properties. A typical use of these signals is in communication applications that use the digital modulaiton schemes of Gaussian Minimum Shift Keying (GMSK) and Gaussian Frequency Shift Keying (GFSK) such as GSM systems. To evaluate the designed filters in Multisim with an ideal response or to generate a Gaussian pulse to model the filter in a modulation chain, the attached custom instrument can be very beneficial to optimize the design.

there must something wrong with *.llb file in GaussianPulse_M11.x_M12.0.zip, ChirpAdvanced_M11.x_M12.0.zip and ChirpSimple_M11.x_M12.0.zip,
after extract the .ZIP file intou folder, multisim12.0 sofeware cannot start, and get stuck as the pic shows.
