Hi,
is there really no ARM etc. symbols in CDS 10? How comes, when NI offers Embedded module for ARM??
I'm evaluating sw packages on simple demo project with LPC2103. I found symbol library inMultisim/Ultiboard seriously poor. I found all needed components in Altium. Since I own Developer Suite, I prefer NI products, they are proven to be reliable and stable (Altium is a nest of bugs with a lot of fancy crap). My question is, when comprehensive component library can be expected in Circuit Design Suite? 11.0? By the way, I've made some 50 simple PCBs with up to 20 components and a lot of schematics with CorelDraw(I've mastered to perfection in my previous job and stil use it a lot for front panel design in LabView). I want 5k€ software to be faster even for simple projects. If I draw symbols, I do it faster and lot nicer in CDR(300€). The comparison is extremly banal, but ilustrates the need for "prefabricated" stuf in any software. LabView is the best example. I believe EWB will grove mature in NI stable :-).

Hi Damir,
I echo your sentiments. For $5k it should have at least the functionality and usability of a $300 CAD program. The symbol and footprint editors are jokes. I was happy NI bought EWB and continue to hope that the UI will be improved.

Hi
Unfortunatelly, there are millions of different electronic parts on the market and this would be very difficult to put all of them into Multisim's library - some choices have to be made. This is why Multisim has an option to import models/footprints or create own ones. However, if you feel that it would be beneficial to include certain models, feel free to submit your opinion in the Product Suggestion Center. Our developers are looking into those requests.
