Buidling an SCR based upon a data sheet

I'm new to Multisim and I need to model a circiut that uses an SCR to discharge a capacitor into a dump resistor. I have the circiut set up, however, I can't find a Westcode R3708FC45V SCR in the database.

How do I build an SCR based upon the data sheet linked below? (page 12) I checked under properties on a random SCR and tried "Edit Component In DB" but all the properties listed under SCRs in the Multisim users guide were not listed.

http://www.westcode.com/r3708fc.pdf

Also, the actual SCR we are using in my lab is triggered by a 3V TTL signal. To trigger the SCR in multisim can I use a switch that is linked to a 3V DC supply?

Hi,

Building a SPICE model from a datasheet is a challenging task and most users will not be able to do this, the best way is to find a SPICE model from the manufacture or a comparable component that do have a SPICE model.

mrgilpin,

I am not sure which version you have, however in the Multisim PowerPro version there is an included SPICE Model maker tool allowing you to build customer models when none exist from the manufacturer.   There is a SCR model maker that does allow you to take a component datasheet and plug in characteristic values to produce a model.
