The Latch Disable (LD) input on the CD4543, according to the data sheet, is said to latch/freeze the BCD code input previously applied before the LD goes from logic 1 to 0. Instead, the LCD display either shows a dash, or nothing at all. Is there something I am missing? I have no problem with this on a breadboard. In my circuit example you will also see the Phase and BP inputs of the CD4543 and LCD attached to Vdd; this is a temporary solution to another issue I have had with Multisim and is (to my knowledge) irrelevant to the LD.
