Can I use a read only memory in my circuit without an MCR

I am doing a logic simulation. I want to present test vectors to my circuit but only when my circuit is ready for the next vector. I can't use the built in word generator trigger since it triggers a complete stream versus one word at a time. I would prefer to put the data in a read only memory and have my circuit address this memory (not an MCU) for the input(and result vectors). This is a fairly basic requirement and as such I would think there must be a way to do this. Or am I the first person who has ever tried to use a memory device in a logic simulation without an MCU???

I have found only one that should work without the MCU Module. It is called "2K8RAM" and is in MISC DIGITAL>TIL in the Master Database. All the others listed in the database have no model and are for schematic entry/layout only. The only other ones that have models are in the MCU Module.

I hope this helps as this is the only thing I could find.

Thank you Lacy for the reply. Do you know if there is a way for the Word Generator to only put out a single word with an external trigger? In STEP mode it puts out a single word but pauses the simulation. This pause is undesirable. I want my logic test to run automatically (without operator intervention). I only want the Word Generator to present a word when my circuit asks for it via the external trigger. Your assistance is GREATLY appreciated.

I have done some test with the Word Generator and I don't see a way to make it do what you need. I tried triggering in the various modes. In cycle mode once it is triggered it continuosly runs and doesn't stop when the trigger is removed. The other modes, like you say, pauses the simulation after every transition.
