Component Colour Not Saved

I am using Multisim 10.0.343 at the College where I work. We have some simple logic boards that are used to teach fault finding principles in digital circuits. These boards simulate a set of Traffic Lights which run through the sequence of Red, Red&Amber, Green, Amber, Red. In order to assist the teaching I have drawn the circuit in Multisim, placing LED diodes at various points in the circuit to indicate the logic levels present as the sequence is stepped through. To make the circuit appear less complicated, I have tried to 'hide' the ground connections and the limiting resistors for my LED indicators by turning their colours to light grey, I have also coloured the wires and associated logic gates for the red LED, amber LED and Green LED red, amber and green, showing the path that is taken to illuminate the relevant traffic light.

My problem is that after I save the circuit when I re-open it, all the component colours have been lost, the wires remain correctly coloured, but the logic gates and the limiting resistors revert back to their original blue rather than the light grey, red, amber and green that I selected.

Hi there,

Thanks for reporting this. Other people have noticed this as well. We have done out best to address your issues and have recently fixed this. Our newest version, Multisim 11, saves colours correctly. Feel free to download this version and take a look. Here's a link from which you can download the latest version:

If you choose to upgrade, all your circuits are forward compatible. However, keep in mind that circuits created and saved in v11 are not backward compatible with Multisim 10.0.1.

Hope that helps.

Is there no update for the existing version? Our college paid a lot for a site licence for V10 and I can't see them paying out again just to correct this error.

I am assuming that there is a charge for upgrading from V10 to V11. If it is a free update, that is a different issue...

I wouldn't know about your SSP status and entitlement. Please contact us directly to clarify.

Unfortunately, there are no updates for Multisim 10.0 that will correct the colour problem. However, it may be worth upgrading to Multisim 11 as there has been a lot more bug fixes and feature improvements which you may benefit from.
