Copying and IC from the Master to the User Database

Copy an IC from the Master Database to the User Database

Place the part from the User Database to the workspace.

Double-click on the new IC and click "Edit Component in DB" under the Value Tab.

Select the Footprint tab.

Now, If you delete the old footprint before you select a new one, the pinout on the new footprint will be incorrect.

Instead you must select a new footprint before deleting the old one.

Are you questioning as to why this is happening or just notifying us that you may have found a potential bug?

Either way this si good information to know. Thanks for letting us know. I wilkl take a peek at this later to see if I can reproduce it also.

Thanks for the reply.

I was just trying to let someone know what I had run across.

It seems like a possible bug as it does not give any warning that the pinout is being changed.
