Did you mean:

DILREED_1U

I am trying to make or use a reed relay. The footprint DILREED_1U I found in the Ultiboard database is exactly what I want. But I find no

part in Multisim that uses that footprint. If I take another relay in Multisim, transfer to Ultiboard, change the footprint, save it to the

Corporate Database, then when I back annotate to Multisim it complains that the footprint can't be found.

I can't seem to be able to build a new part that uses the DILREED_1U footprint. Any tips?

Thanks,

Gary

Hi Gary,

Can you try this:
1 - Open your Multisim schematic prior to back annotating from Ultiboard
2 - Double click the relay and click Edit Footprint
3 - Click select from Database
4 - You can find the DILREED_1U footprint from the Master Database list
5 - Select the component when you find it and apply your changes (click OK)
6 - Now click Transfer>>Forward Annotate to Ultiboard 10

Ultiboard will come up and you can choose to forward annotate the changes.

Generally, I find that forward annotation from Multisim to Ultiboard is more reliable than backward annotation. I tend to structure my work flow to perform forward annotation whenever possible.

Hope that helped and have a good weekend!
