Difference between using Function Generator and AC power supply

What is the Difference between using Function Generator and AC power supply? Moreover, if we give 1 Khz for both of them and check the output in Oscilloscope, There appeas to be a change in the waveform. So please reply to me. And Can I use AC Power Supply rather than Function Generator in my circuits? Thank You.

Hello Petchiraja,

I'm relatively new to the new version of Multisim.  But I've been trolling the forums to help myself learn.

At first I didn't see the difference between the setup of your function generator and your power supply.   But a colleague of mine spotted it right away.

Your power supply is configured to be 10V RMS.  The function generator is 10V Peak.

If you multiply 10V by 1.414, you'll get the peak you're seeing in your second oscilloscope.

If you want your peak to be 10V, then the RMS is .707 times 10.  Which is, 7.07V   Enter that value in for your power supply, and you'll see the same results in both oscilloscopes.
