ECG signal analysis

We are doing a project on ECG signal analysis.Our aim is to take a ECG signal available in standard database and process the signal using a algorithm and that algorithm should be able to run in a processor and it should give alert if there is an abnormality.But we have no idea about the algorithm that can be chosen and in which processor does the algorithm work.So can you tell us the algorithms that can be used and in which processor is suitable for running the algorithm.Our basic requirement is that the processor should have less power consumption and more speed of operation but at less cost of implementation

I want to recommend you to visit and join the Biomedical User Group, a community of engineers a researchers where you can ask questions, share ideas, etc.

In my opinion, for the selection of the processor you should also take into consideration the programming language, intpur/output channels, determinism, etc. I think LabVIEW and one of our NI RIO platforms would be a good fit for your application.
