Hi all,
I've been working with the latest version of Ultiboard (10.1.357) on WinXP SP3, and have come across a rather annoying bug with the group replica place functionality.
Specifically, I'm working with SMT components that are on both sides of the board, and group replica place isn't properly replicating the group. Specifically, the placement of the replicated parts is in the right overall pattern, but exact placement is subtly different, causing subsequent Copy Route commands to generate loads of DRC errors. (And, that makes perfect sense given that the part placement by GRP is not a true copy!)
I've found that by going through the group replica place sequence twice in a row, however, solves the problem. The subtle misalignments go away, and the resulting part arrangement, orientations, etc. are the intended copy of the source part group.
The attached images exemplify the behavior. GRP_1.jpg shows the buggy placement following the first run-through of the GRP sequence. GRP_2.jpg and GRP_2wtraces.jpg show the results after going through the sequence again and following a Copy Route, respectively.
Here's hoping this is helpful to those wanting to use GRP successfully! I know I sure was disheartened when it failed initially -- I need to use this on some 96 part groups, and dispaired at doing it all manually... 🙂

Hi,
Is it possible for you to post the file or a section of this file, I like to see if I can replicate it.
