Has NI Abandoned Support for Multisim and Ultiboard?

Has NI abandoned Multisim-Ultiboard?   For many years, pleas for support to import various component libraries has fallen on deaf NI ears.  I have never seen any plausible reason for this posted by a NI rep on these community boards.  NI has the most intuitive GUI for prototyping and has the best autorouter among the competition but the lack of component footprints and the complete lack of interest in supporting ECAD or other formats such as those found in UltraLibrian or SnapEDA  is just unfathomable.  How can they sell such expensive software without such a basic import function.  Other than educational institutions, is anyone paying for new upgrades anymore?

After wasting a lot of man months trying to make Ultiboard our company ECAD program, I've been steering people to KiCAD as a starter system for ECAD since last year.  Except for using the very handy co-simulation features with lab view, using Ultiboard only makes sense if you have already built up your own footprint data base, are fast at building new footprints and have years of experience.

I'm still open to hearing NI's great plan for updating Ultiboard, but new users should beware of investing time into this as a PCB board design tool if they are doing it as more than a hobby or educational project.
