Help please? How to make a 220V-AC to a 12.5V-DC?

I need help with my project.

I'm new in the subject of electronics so  i really don't know much of the terminology

I also tried making the circuit using multisim, but i was not able succeed in making the 12.5V DC output

i was able to make the rectified output but until there only and most of the time i get an error.

I know some items to be used like diodes and transformer the problems are that i dont know

what to select from the transformers and diodes and resistors and capacitors.

I saw some cicuits but i really dont know what they are e.g. [the huge triangle (not the inverter for logic circuits/TTL)]

as much as possible i want to make a circuit that is made of the lecture scope of  our electronic

these are diodes, transistors[not yet discussed]

i know but minimal knowledge of some components these are capacitors, transformers, resistors

is it possible to make a AC-DC supply w/o transistor?

I want to ask for help of somebody to help me make a circuit diagram in multisim.

i'm asking nicely if anyone can help me.

please dont flame me T_T.

thank you for reading and replyingSmiley Happy!!!

O.K. This is not a flame as you call it, but we here at the foum frown on students wanting us to do their work for them. It is not ethical nor is it fair to you as you would not learn anthing by us doing that. A nudge in the right direction though is acceptible.

Ylu say you are familiar with transformers, diodes, and resistors. This is your answer. You just have to figure out how to put those elements together.

Sorry, but that is all I am going to say. Don't think of me as being cruel as that is not my intention. I just want you to learn how to figure thing out a little on your own. That is the best way to absorb knowledge.

I will give you a hint. Think about the turns ratio of your transformer. Here in the U.S. 120V to 12V would be a 10:1 ratio.

I am sure from this you should be able to get the rest.

Like it was mentioned earlier, don't expect the forum members to lecture you. Anyways, I only have one thing to say, the ripples are normal for an unregulated supply(check out the lm78xx series regulators on net).
