When you double-click on a component, you should get a pop up dialog and there is an option to save the component to the database. However, depending on the version you are using and which component you selected, this option may not be available.

Hi,
In the student edition of Multisim, you can not save components from a schematic directly into the User Database. In other version, you can save regular components from the schematic directly into your User/ Corporate Database by right-clicking and selecting Save component to database. You can not save configurable/animated components to the User or Corporate database.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
What you can do is double-click the component and go to the Value tab. Click on Edit model and copy the spice model from here. You can then create a new component and paste this spice model when prompted for the model.
Here is a tutorial on component creation.
