What version are you using?

In version 8, 9 and 10. By renaming the sheet you can change any number it may have had. For example, when you start you have a default Circuit1 name, if you add a sheet, you have Circuit1#1 and Circuit1#2. If you save your file and call it MyCircuit, now you have MyCircuit#1 and MyCircuit#2. Now if you rename the sheets you will see MyCircuit#FirstName and MyCircuit#SecondName. Version 7 did not supported renaming (you would need to copy and paste the contents into a new sheet).

I am using version 10. I also have 10 sheets to a multiple page schematic. I was easily able to rename the sheets in the hierachy tab. However, this seems to have no effect on the title block. In the title block I have &p in the sheet number, it always indicates the original sheet number by the order that the sheet was added to the schematic. Do you have any idea how to get the &p to update in the title block so that it automatically adjusts the sheet number to agree with the rename? or is only the sheet name able to be changed and not the actually sheet number?

Ok, now I get it...

So, in Multisim if you use the &p title block symbol it will check the sheet number that was given in the order in which it was created... it has no relation to the title of the page. Renaming the page will have no effect on the page number.

If you want to modify that number to read "Sheet 5 of 10" for example, you need to manually type in a "5" rather than the "&p" symbol. So, double-click the title block and type and replace &p with the number you want to see there.

There was a feature request about letting a user re-order the pages on Multi-page designs, so hopefully in a future version of the software that feature will be available.

Thanks, I am all for the feature that allows for the sheets to be automatically renumbered. For now, I will manually adjust them.

Unfortunately it seems that even though you renumber the pages manually, it still prints the pages in the order they were created. This is really annoying when printing a multi-sheet schematic to a PDF!

Hi jg_fs,

Thank you for pointing this out. We introduced sheet reordering with v10.1.1, and must have glossed over the testing of printing. I've entered a defect to correct this.

I've looked all over v10.1.1, and v11.0 and cannot see how to reorder sheet numbers. How is it done?

Hi Gary,

To rename a sheet, right click it in the Design Toolbox and click Rename Page. Starting in v10.1.1, you can reorder sheets by simply dragging and dropping them in the order that you want from the Design Toolbox. The only caveat that is being discussed here is that it won't print in the new page order.

Thanks for the reply! I'm in Multisim v11.0 now; right clicking a sheet in the Design toolbox gives me no option to rename a sheet, nor does reordering them (drap & drop) change the sheet numbers. In the title block, I am using the &SN token for the sheet number, so I'm still at a loss.
