How does one remove a shape?

I have put down a number of retangular SHAPEs in copper. Some went down correctly, some didn't.

I seem to be unable to delete, or even edit, the undesirable shapes. The basic problem may be an inability to actually select the shape. 

The procedures given in the Ultiboard manual don't seem to work.

I'm not sure if this will help you or not, but when trying to select the shape, make sure your selection filter is set for selecting traces and that the correct layer is active.
