I am however wondering why the 2 Ω load resistor be replaced with 1.6 Ω resistor in series with a rheostat, what advantage would it be over using just the 2 Ω load resistor? I am just trying to understand the rational behind it.
Thanks, I pay careful attention to the ratio of the full resistance of the rheostat and 120 Ω during the final design.
