Is there a way to update my circuits from M11 to M12 all at once?

I have about 75 circuits that I have to update whenever I get a new major version.  Is there a tool available that will allow me to update them to Multisim 12 all at once?

Hi,

Sorry, I'm afraid you can't do that with Multisim, at least not at this point. You have to update components on sheet separtely for all your circuits.

Actually, there is a little known, partially-automated way to do this. Multisim Projects have the ability to upgrade files to the latest version, which will open and save the file in the latest version. It won't update component on each sheet (as Derek noted), but usually that isn't required.

To do this:

  1. Click File > Projects and Packing > New Project
  2. In the New Project dialog, click OK. (You can change the name/location if you want, but the default will work)
  3. In the Design Toolbox, click the Project View tab
  4. Right click on Schematic, and click Add File
  5. Select the files you want to upgrade. You can select more than one at a time in this dialog (this is the big time saver!). Click Open
  6. You should now see the files in the project
  7. Click File > Projects and Packing > Upgrade Project
  8. Multisim will open each file, and upgrade it to the latest version
