Hello, i have a problem with using UItiboard 12. I want to move part by 0.25mm to the right but when i click it and drag it can only move in steps of 1 mm.
Same when i want to resize a rectangle, i want to just slightly change its size but it can change size in steps of some preset value much bigger than what i want to change it.
I tried to set grid to 0.000001mm but its not working.

Another example, i set grid to 0.000001mm and then i want to place standard dimension, and i place it and it wont move in increments of 0.000001 (my grid) but will move in increments of 0.254mm 😕

I am able to double click the part, and in the Part Properties box select the tab Position and change the X and Y values. Does this change the part position for you?
Or you can double click in the workspace area that is not populated and get the PCB Properties, select Grids & Units, and under Grid step name select Part Grid and change the Grid step value to the right.

Hello,
"Or you can double click in the workspace area that is not populated and get the PCB Properties, select Grids & Units, and under Grid step name select Part Grid and change the Grid step value to the right."
I did this and set it to 0.000001mm and still when i drag and move object it can be moved only by n*0.254mm (0.254mm, 0,508mm, 0.762mm etc)
"I am able to double click the part, and in the Part Properties box select the tab Position and change the X and Y values. Does this change the part position for you?"
Yes, with this i can move my part to any position i want but it takes more work since i have to manually enter coordinates and calculate them 😕

Interesting, I do not have that issue, can you send a layout file and I will see what happens on my software. What version are you using, I have 12.0, Full Edition.

Hi,
I guess you are changing the wrong grid...
try this:
set your grid to metric system (mm)
then in the grid options:
part grid is only for through hole parts
SMD grid is for SMD parts.
When moving parts that are off-grid, try moving them one by one.
If you move the as a group, they will not automaticaaly snap to the new grid (they shouldn't!)
good luck
