Multisim 7 Amplifier problem

Hi all,

I have a problem that I am facing right now. I think I know the solution, but I am not sure if it is the right one or if it will ever work.

The problem: I am doing a simple amplifier circuit with single ended supply. If I am correct, the output of the amplifier should be amplified for the positive cycles of the input and not for the negative cycles, since the output can swing only from the negative (which is zero here in this case) to the positive supply.

The simualtion results show the results to be otehrwise. The output voltage swings from the positive supply all the way down to the negative supply. Also, when we use a particular amplifier device, then there are the constrraints on the output. It will never be amplified beyond this value.

What I tried to do was build another device with the same parameters, except for the negative voltage parameter which I changed to zero(VSW- in the component database). I am using the multisim 7 version for my design.

Please let me know what I am doing wrong. or if there is anything that I can do to correct it.

Thanks and Regards,
