Multisim frequently hangs during paste and undo operations

I just installed the Circuit Design Suite 10 evaluation on my new computer running Vista Home Premium.
Everything installed fine, but Multisim 10.0.343 frequently hangs following any of the following actions :

Edit->Paste
Edit->Undo
Place->Multi Page
Changing the selection of the "In Use" combo box.

It usually hangs for a couple of seconds, and "(Not responding)" is appended to the window title.
Sometimes it freezes for too long and I need to kill the process with task manager.

Ultiboard is running fine though.

I tried installing the software on my older computer running Windows XP, and I have not seen these problems.

Has anyone experienced similar problems?

I can see that you have the latest Multisim release (10.0.343) which is compatible with Windows Vista. Since you have a new computer I assume you have the minimum system requirements, but just in case please make sure your system meets the following:

• Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 or later, Windows XP, Vista, or 64-bit Vista
• Pentium 4 class microprocessor or equivalent (Pentium III class minimum)
• 512 MB of memory (256 MB minimum)
• 1.5 GB of free hard disk space (1 GB minimum)
• Open GL

® capable 3D graphics card recommended (SVGA resolution video adapter with 800×600 video resolution minimum, 1024×768 or higher preferred)

Did you install a previous version of the software on this machine? do you use a persona firewall? antivirus software?

Hi,

I finally used my PC's installation disks and reinstalled everything from scratch, and the MultiSim demo worked fine.

I had messed around with Windows services and UAC settings before I installed Multisim the first time, maybe something went wrong in the installation because of file/registry virtualization... the second time I didn't change anything in Windows and everything worked fine.
