Spice Netlist Error for Virtual Vacuum Tube

Hello,

This is the error that I received on trying to simulate a virtual vacuum tube.

------ Checking SPICE netlist for virtual tube 3000v - Tuesday, February 14, 2012, 10:04:19 PM ------
SPICE Netlist Error in schematic RefDes 'u1', element 'bip': Unable to interpret '1.#ind*sqrt((abs(v(5))+v(5))*((v(5))^2))' in expression
SPICE Netlist Error in schematic RefDes 'u1', element 'bip': Unknown symbol '1.#ind*sqrt((abs(v(5))+v(5))*(v(5)^2))' used in expression
SPICE Netlist Error in schematic RefDes 'u1', element 'bip': Unknown variable 'ind' used in expression
======= SPICE Netlist check completed, 3 error(s), 0 warning(s) =======

And have attached the detailed report of the tube also wherein the Spice Model contains the error.

This unknown variable 'ind' has '#' before the digits which I don't understand why it has been used.

Thanks..

Dhara.

Hello Dhara,

This does not seem like normal/expected behavior.

Can you upload the schematic you're using for the simulation?

This would help me check if I'm able to reproduce this behavior at my side.

Hello Thierry Coppens,

Kudos definitely to you! Smiley Happy

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to read, trying to understand and reply to my problem but after some digging that i did myself with respect to the 2A3 tube and Virtual tube, i found that the value that i had entered in the grid-cathode voltage led to the following error. Because due to it the denominator of BIp had a negative number with fractional power, so the error was occuring.

So this problem is solved but if i do encounter any more problems in the future, will definitely contact you first. Thanks alot for the help!

Kind Regards,

Dhara.

Hello Dhara,

Well, I was just using some of my spare time to browse through the forum...

It's nice when your work (doing support) also becomes one of your hobbies 🙂
