Hi,
I created a footprint with Part Wizard as follows:
Part Wizard Step x of 7 Action to take
1 Select SMT, Next
2 Select SIP, Next, Next, Next, Next
6 Increase Number of pins to 7, Back, Back,Back,Back,
2 (Changes made appear to have been lost), Next
3 (Changes made are confirmed lost), Cancel
3 (Pop-up message appears, ironically warns user that closing the wizard will discard any input data)
There should (at least) be a warning to the user that they're about to lose the settings they made for the part they were building, if they click the back button enough to get back to step 2.
Bonus:
If the part wizard wouldn't cause the user to lose their settings so long as the settings in step 1 or 2 remain unchanged, and the user is allowed to click Back/Next how ever they please, then I would say welcome to the 1990s.
Double Bonus:
Start from the 1990s and add in: If, after the user proceeds beyond step 2, and the user returns to step 1 or 2, and they try to change a setting in step 1 or 2, the user should receive a warning that they are about to lose any previously made settings. Then I would say welcome to the 21st Century!
