Ultiboard parts placement problem

In Ultiboard and desiging a new  board layout. When selecting a part from the database and press OK it takes you back to the board layout to place that part but it would select the last part you place to move and place on the board and not the part you just selected. I have upgrade to 12 and this is the first time I have seen this. Has anybody seen this problem?

Hi,

Can you provide us with some more details. Which part did you select from the database? Are to trying to replace the shape of the footprint? If so, what footprint did you try to replace?

The problem was when I was placing DIP parts (dip8, dip16 parts). I just made a new project and use the board Wizard to design the board. I could place the first part fine but when I would select a 2nd part from the database and press "ok" which takes me back to the board to place the part it would select the first part I place to move. The 2nd part would be placed on the board. I tried to replicate the problem today but could not but there is a new problem now. When I select a part from the database and place it and do a "ctrl-rotate I do not get the "Enter Reference Designation for part" box to show up! Also the curser cross hairs will not show up over the board outline but when you move off the board you can see the cursers. The only ways I can get it out of this is by doubling-right clicking on the board which brings up the PCB properties and X out of that to be able to select another part or do a “ctrl-W” command. If I do not do a rotate then it works fine. Looks like I will have to call tech support about this or has anybody else came across this. I did have this problem yesterday with the first problem.

Hi,

I was able to re-produce the part placement issue when you rotate the part. I have filed a CAR(Corrective Action Request) for it.

As a workaround, you can rotate the parts after you have finished placing everything.

We apologize for any inconvenience.
