Ultiboard "How-To" questions / Feature Suggestions

Though I plan on using the product suggestion route, I figured I'd post here first, as I don't want to make suggestions for features that already exist, but I just wasn't able to find.

If some of these things already exist, please clue me in.

  • With the drawing tools, having them snap to guidelines while your are drawing an object.

  • The same placement constraints for the copper-area/polygon tool that exist for trace drawing.

  • Movement of parts by way of "Nudging," with the arrow keys. As it appears to me, the arrow keys re-size the object.

  • The ability to use some other drawing tool other than the polygon tool for creating a keep-in/out area.

  • Ability to choose which points of an object are snapped-to, (endpoint, midpoint, pad outer diameter, pad center) along the lines of AUTOCAD's OSNAP.

  • Ability to pre-place guidelines at manually-entered coordinates, using a single dialog box. I would think that many users, when they begin a design, probably have a least a couple dimensions in mind already. When I go to draw a rectangle or something, I'd be nice if it just snapped to guidleines I've layed out precisely by way of manual entry, instead of having to eye the coordinates at the bottom left or open properties to change the dimensions.

  • A drop-down box for changing line/trace width exists currently, but this only changes the line width of lines yet to be drawn. Having the drop-down box change the width of a highlighted trace that's already been drawn would be great (instead of having to open properties for each segment you want to change, or changing the the entire line/trace width via the spreadsheet view).

  • When customizing a keyboard command, if the key you want to assign to a command is already assigned to another command, you have to go search out that currently-assigned command in order to unassign and free-up the key for re-assignment, then you have to go find the command you originally wanted to change, again, in order to assign the key. Just put a button there that allows you to clear the current shortcut assignment so you can re-assign it to the one you want, without the back and forth. Trivial, perhaps, but every piece of professional software I've used has this basic functionality.
