I have a few legacy designs that were done in Ulticap. When I import them into our current Multicap app to view and/or print out a schematic, the symbols are a bit smaller than on the original Ulticap schematic and the pint numbers, etc, are very small that you have to use a magnifying glass to read them on the printed schematic. Also, the power supply nodes that were VCC, 9V, etc. on the Ulticap schematic are UNLABELLED on the Multicap import.
How can I avoid having to completely redo these schematic in Multicap? I tried the only import option - 50 mil or 100 mill. 100 mil leaves the connections between pins visually disconnected on the schematic! 50 mil results in the behavior that I mentioned above. I don't see other options in Multicap to fix this except for manually going in and recreating each schematic. Pain in the a...
I thought of maybe loading Ulticap back onto the computer, but I can only find my backups from the installed files on the computer - I can't find the original install disk, so Ulticap complains when I try to open it that it has not been installed properly. Also, since it only allows 14 days to enter the Release Code, it says it has zero days left.
Does Electronics Workbench have the legacy app avaiable for download? I should be in the EWB database as a legit purchaser of the product.

Hi Bill,
Multicap and Ulticap are really two different software that have very different architecture and when you import an Ulticap file into Multicap, the translation is not perfect. The symbols and are different and you can replace them with a Multisim parts, but there things that you don't see that have a potential to cause a lot of problems. This is why I would recommend you redo your schematic; it is safer and likely much faster than verifying translation is correct.

Tien,
Would it be possible to have both Ulticap and Multicap apps on our computer at the same time? In that way, for the legacy products I would not have to redo the schematic but could just use the exsting .UTSCH files. However, to do that I would need to get a fresh copy of Ulticap from you (I should be in your database as having purchased Ulticap). I cannot find mine and I think I tossed it when installing Multicap, thinking that the new software would surely read the older files in the right way.

Hi Bill,
Ulticap was installed with Ultiboard 2001 using a feature code. If you can not find your UB 2001 CD and serial number with a feature code, send me a private message with your full name, company and any serial number have, I will search our database.
