Unable to use evaluation version for NI Circuit Design Suite

Hello, just installed Circuit Design 10.0.1 Student Evaluation Version. It worked for 2 weeks and now I get the following error.

"Due to system clock rollback on your computer, expiring licenses cannot be checked out from this computer. (NILM6)"

I contacted tech support by phone, the engineer sent me a trial license file which did not work either.
I contacted NI again and they instructed me to uinstall then reinstall the software again.
I did that and still did not work.
I uninstalled it again and this this I deleted all the registries associated with NI. Still same error.

I really need the evaluation version for now because I have to demo something to the university on my laptop, which will make them decide if they will buy the package or not.

Any help on this is appreciated ?

Thanks,
Ayman

When you did your deleted of the software, did you remove all folders from your computer including the ones in C:\Documents and Settings/Owner/Applications Data as well as all the folders in under Program Files?

I had a problem once with my Version and had to do a complete wipe of all folders as well as registry. If you used the uninstall program to do this then this only uninstalls the core files and leaves folders behind and then when you do a re-install everything will go back to the way it was before unless you wipe out all "National Instrument" folders.

Try that and see what happens. It can't hurt anything since you can't use it the way it is now. Just don't delete your setup program if you downloaded it from the website.

I hope this can help you get it up and running.

In which this problem has been around since version 7!

Uninstall means everything, no folder, files or traces. Maybe a class in the registry to check to see if its been installed past 30 days after trial install. Other than that, the uninstaller is garbage. I don't know why they haven't fixed it after all these revs and this issue reported since version 8 BY ME.

The only folders that, in my opinon, should remain after using an uninstall program would be the user files i.e. circuit folders, project folders, MCU workspaces and that is all that should remain.

I wouldn't want the uninstaller to ruin someones work if they haven't backed it up somewhere.

This is definitely a feature list item.

Lacy,

Good point, but good uninstallers give the user the option to copy all work that wasn't a part of the installation process to a desktop folder. There are many computer users that can't figure that kind of stuff out. Many would argue, well how can they use MS and UB etc etc......, trust me, I've experienced some users that can use the software but are completely clueless about windows functions and architecture......crazy but true.

Either, I think the uninstaller needs a bit of attention.
