Volume lic manager on XP not working in Vlan

    Volume lic manager running on XP server will not connect to the workstation if they are in different vlans.

I checked the access-lists and opened every port except 135 and 445. Could this be the problem?

Look at the bottom of the page, the last bullet talks about adding the domain of the server to the DNS suffix list of the client.
