Hi Mike,
We looked at the code for the iges export and it appears that regardless of the unit you are working with, Ultiboard will export the iges file in um. When you import this file to your CAD application, please set the unit appropriately.

Hi,
I'm currently experiencing anomalies in 3D file export (both 3D DXF and IGES). I'm using the latest version 10.1 and importing to the latest version of KeyCreator (many other file sources seem to import OK).
I haven't investigated the exported file contents, but they appear not to provide units information. I have read the post about IGES being stuck in micrometers, but my IGES import doesn't allow scaling on import. The 3D DXF also imports as a huge item unless you scale by 3.937e-8 when exported in inches and the destination file is in inches. Two dimensional DXF seems to work out but you have to recreate all the part heights, which are important in packaging the board in the enclosure.
Are these still known problems with Ultiboard export, or am I making an error? If these are know issues from last year, are they going to be addressed? Is there an issue tracking database so that we know what has already been reported and what priorities are assigned. This information could be for registered users only. I would refer to that database to find issues and possible work arounds before spending a lot of my time trying to develop my own.
A company called Codegear (formerly Borland) has such a database, and the registered users can indicate which items they feel should be prioritized so that the most developer attention is spent on problems of greatest concern to the greatest number of users.
I like the product. I find maintenance to be expensive, and would like to see more frequent bug fixes. As I don't use LabView, I would more benefit from improvements to the product that I did purchase rather than integration with a product I do not yet utilize.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
Regards,
Jim
