c106 seires spice model

Hello experts!

I am very new to NI.

I have downloaded Multisim and it is great simulator I have ever found. Even I used circuitlogix, proteus, altium, circuitmaker 2000. But multisim is one of the best and I have stood with it for entire my life.

But it lacks some components in its database.

I want C106 series model for my simulation.

I have attached datasheet.

C106d is the component I required in C106 series.

Thank you for your help experts.

Hello and welcome to the discussion forum,

Ths C106 SCR is not included in Multisim, however, you can create custom components using the Component Wizard (Tools menu). I tried to locate a SPICE model for the C106 with no luck but I found a recommended replacement, the MCR706A. Click here to open its technical documentation. Under the Technical Documentation & Design Resources section you will find a simulation model.

Finally, here is a step-by-step tutorial on how to create custom components in Multisim:

Creating a Custom Component in NI Multisim

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply sir. Is your recommended SCR (MCR706A) a substitute of C106? Right? Means all specifications of these two are same? Right sir?

And I have copied all spice model of MCR706A as it is on a notepad. Now during component making wizard, I just paste the spice model as it in the spice window? Right sir?

Thank you

Hello,

According to the On Semiconductor page that I sent you the MCR706A is a good eplacement for the C106, however I can't tell you if all the specs are exactly the same. I recommend you to read in detail the datasheet to double check that this component will fit your application.

With regard to the Component Wizard, in Step 6 you can simply paste the model. Be careful with Step 7 (mapping between the model and symbol), this information needs to be accurate, otherwise the component will not work.
