Hi,
Recently, a cutomer asked to add some extra's to the silkscreen of an existing board made in an older Ultiboard version.
Those files are known as .DDF files. When I had opened it in my recent Ultiboard V10, I noticed that:
-some texts in the silkscreen were suddenly mirrored (not the refdes, but some boardnames etc...)
-some texts on the top copper layer were suddenly mirrored (bard production data)
-all via's had no more soldermask where needed
-all fixing holes with ground pads were plated TH instead of NPTH
-texts on the silk screen are smaller
Now another customer asks to update some obsolete SMT footprints on an old DDF multilayer (4, 6 and 8 layer boards.)
I'm afraid I'll find more of those 'strange effects' when transforming these to Ewprj
Has anyone any experience on this issue on multilayer boards?
What should I look for?
How to prevent a disaster?
Best regards
Johan
