hello everybody .
there is a situation Just ran into -
I have created project ( project B) by copying another project ( project A) as a base \starting point with intention to introduce some changes into project B.
the project A contents a few hierarchical blocks and their source files are located in the same folder with main schematic file of project A.
after copying and creating of project B , it contains the same hierarchical blocks and their source files are still located in the folder of project A.
the question is how to update location of the hierarchical blocks files in project B and to point them to their actual location in folder project B?
the direct approach - hierarchical blocks - properties - to change files path - some how did not work.
there is the way I have found that worked -
1. make sure both projects are closed .
2. to rename \ remove to different location hierarchical blocks files of project A
( make sure you would be able to restore them later !!!!)
( as an option to make copy of folder of project A as backup) .
3. open project B.
4. MS would complain about missing hierarchical blocks files and would ask for new files location.
5. point MS to hierarchical blocks files in project B folder .
6. now hierarchical blocks in project B are linked to their files in folder of project B.
7. restore hierarchical blocks files of project A - undo step 1.
