how do you wire up the timed contacts for use with a dryer timer circuit

I have been trying to wire or actually re-draw a dryer circuit using the manufacture's drawing and I am unable to wired in the timed contacts due to the four pins, truthfully I have not dealt with timers much well at least from an electro-mechanical standpoint.  Is there an example on the website for wiring in timed contacts or even building a timing circuit for say like a dryer?

Hi,

The Multisim database may not have a switch you are looking for, but you can always create one yourself. Select Tools>>Component Wizard, and on Step 3 is where you can create you own symbol by click on the "Edit" button.

If you want to simulate the switch, you can build you own model. Please refer to the following knowledge base:

You need to know a little bit about SPICE to make this model and if this knowledge base doesn't make any sense to you, let me know, I will give you more details.

Ok Tien, however, is there an example circuit that shows how to use the timed contacts just for future reference?  I tried using the pins (4) in series and parallel, if I had them in parallel the circuit would just blow and only reset when play was depressed again.  When I had them in series the circuit would open and then auto close and start the timer over.  I don't think I had it wired correctly.  I need to see it used in a circuit to get a better understanding on how multisim uses the timed contacts

Have a look at the attached file.  Double click on the normally closed timed contact (J1), the setting are:

Delay Time:  The switch delays the specified time before returning to the close position

On Current (Ion): Required current to open the switch

Off Current (Ioff):  Required to close the switch

When you simulate the circuit, press the keyboard space bar to toggle the switch J2, current exceed 10mA so the J1 opens the scope no longer shows a sine wave.  Press the space bar again not the switch J1 closes after 10 msec.

I can't open the file due to me having ver 10.0.1. Am I able to download ver. 11?
