invisible component

I am going mad! please help.

i am using Multisim 10 and have a wieird problem. I have tried to place a component and once placed it seem to be invisibe.

I tried to check against the properties of a visible placed component, could not see any difference and cancelled the properities box--low and behold THAT had become invisible and the only way to get it back was use the undoo function

any ideas?

Post your circuit... most likely there is a Variant conflict... but is hard to tell without looking at the circuit. Components become grayed-out (not invisible) when they are in a non-active Variant. Or is the component completely invisible?...

Greyed out - but I have given up with it and started again , however perhaps you you can help with something else.

I have copied a connector from the master ultiboard Databaes to the User database and modified it and saved so I know it is there.

When I try to change a Multisim component to use the new footprint the new footprint is nowhere to be seen. How do i make sure that Mulitisim updates the footprint database?
