Sorry for the late reply, I had a pretty big christmas break and don't have access to the interent at home, then had many emails and things to catch up on at work so this slipped my mind for a while.
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for your help and if you ever came accross a method to measure the phase angle in a circuit like that shown I would be interested. Likewise, I will post if I find a way.
