Nestor will have to tackle this one, but I seem to recall a problem installing Multisim to another drive other than the C: Drive. I belive it had to do with the Temp folder, but I am not exactly sure about this information. I recall reading a similar post from another user.
Maybe you could try to re-installing to the C: drive and see if that does cure the problem. This all aI know on this subject.
I hope maybe this might help you.

Thanks Iacy,
I removed the NI software and reinstalled everyting on the C-disk...
But it didn't help, I still get no menu-bar at all... my evaluation license is now at 23 days 🙂
I hope Nestor can give me some advice...

Nestor, Iacy,
I just tried to activate Ultiboad online, using my serial numbers, and guess what....
I now can use Ultiboard, it works fine, all menu's are there, I can open my files.
Strange that in evaluation modus it would not do anything, even if I still had 23 days to go...
So I tried the same trick with Multisim, but that did not work yet.
I got my activation codes online as well as via mail, the code I get does not activate the product.
The computer code and activation code would not match...

To answer one question, the latest version is 10.0.1 with a bulid number of 343 (This is listed in the help "About Multisim" section as 10.0.343) I would recommend installing the latest version as there have been a bunch of thing that were updated since 297. There may have been an easier way to do what you did, but that is something Nestor is more familiar with than I am and the NI team would have address it.
I would try to install 10.0.1 and if yom have any trouble let the forum know and eventually one of the NI Team will assist you. I will try to help if I can.
I hope that I have been of some assistance, but I only can help when I am familiar with the subject matter.

Hi,
I heard the main difference of the 10.0.1 was Vista support... and that would be the reason why the "patch" is an incredible 280 Megabytes large...
Since I am running on XP and Win2K, and I'll probably not install Vista in the next 5 years or so... 🙂
I'll wait and see...
thanks to all !!

Johan,
Vista was the flag feature for the 10.0.1 release (build 10.0.343), however it fixes about 170 things. It was a major maintenance update that we needed to create a full installer for it, especially for the Vista support.
If you want to see a list of the things that were fixed, here is the link:
http://ftp.ni.com/support/softlib/Circuit_Design_Suite/10.0/10.0.1/readme_eng.html#bug_fixes
You can install 10.0.1 on top of any current installation that you have.
