non solder mask defined pads by part?

I know in UB gerbers can be exported with solder mask openings expanded.

In some designs there are parts with solder masks that are required to be opened for non-solder mask defined pads, as well as parts that do not want the soldermask opened, or maybe even want it reduced for solder mask defined pads.

How can a design accomodate both options?  Is there any way to build this into the parts?  Or do I have to make a manually defined shape for each pad with the desired opening?

What is needed for the pad to have a parameter that sets the additional opening on a part by part, or pad by pad basis, not just for the whole design.

Hi,

I think you will have to update the pads manually in order to be able to do this. My suggestion would be to edit the parts in the database and make all the solder masks the size that you like and then just update the shapes so that this gets applied to all the parts in the design.

Thanks, I was hoping there was a better way, but expected the answer you gave.

It would be nice to have a pad specific soldermask size rule rather than just one for the whole design.  Could you add that to the feature request list?
