hi,
I'm using ultiboard to design my single layer PCB.
Due to my PCB is having dipping process in dipping machine, so I need to open resist to add special tail at component leg.
But I don't know how to make the open resist at copper bottom layer.
Anybody can teach me how to open resist at copper bottom?
thank you very much!

Hi Wan,
I believe you are referring to the solder mask. When you generate the gerber files, you should export the solder mask top and bottom. The purpose of the soldermask is to protect the copper wires from solder but the areas around the pads need to be exposing so that you can solder the component to the board. Any SMT pads or through pads will automatically be exposed and by default and the soldermask is equal to the pad size. If you need to draw custom solder mask, you can make the solder mask layer activate then select Place>>Graphics to draw the mask shape. When you turn on the solder mask layer in the Design Toolbox, the solder mask tells you where the board will be exposed meaning you will be able to solder at that spot.
