"Install Failure" at end of install, error1722 during install, but seems to work OK

Multisim 10.1.1 appears to work OK, retrieves circuit files from AC /DC lab textbook disc but have not built anything with it yetError 1722 during NI ELVISmx 4.1 portion of install states "problem w/ Windows installer packageProgram run as part of setup did not finish as expected".  Do I need to uninstall it, do something and reinstall it?

Hi,

Here is one knowledge base I found for error 1722:

Hi, thanks

I saw that information on a search and printed the instructions out.  Though it's the same error #, I think my situation may be different.  I was given the choice to continue the install and I did.  At the end I got "Install Failure" BUT the program appears to be installed and working OK so far.  It takes a lot of time to un-install it and re-install it and I have a lot of schoolwork to do right now.  So I am going to do the first lab today and see what happens.  If any problems develop, then I'll do the fix later at night after I get some work done.

I have finished the first four circuit labs without a problem, using circuit files downloaded from the disc of Using Multisim: Troubleshooting DC / AC Circuits by Reeder, 4th editionEverything worked fine so farI have to say it looks like a software glitchHello software engineers, how about checking this out?

I'm getting the same error, only it won't let me install. I'm trying to install LabWindows 2012 DS2 (though I got the same error from DS1) onto a machine running Windows 7 Professional 32 bit. I disconnected all data acquisition hardware from my system, and my account has Admin privileges. I checked to ensure that my virus scanning software was not running, and I've already gone through the regedit instructions mentioned earlier in this thread. Every time I try to install LabWindows OR the device driver DVD, I get an error message referring to "NI MXS 5.3.0" (or 5.0.0), and underneath this it says that it received error 1722. It then asks if I want to continue to install the software. If I click 'Yes', it continue to install but I can run LabWindows when it's done. I haven't been able to find a "1722" error code in Knowledge Base or here in the posts. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've installed LabWindows on many PCs in the past without trouble. I'm surprised by this one. Brian

Hi,

For LabWindows, I would post your question in their forums, I'm sure you will get better troubleshooting help there than here in the Multisim forums.
