using LM1181 using multisim

Solved!
Go to solution

i have to use LM1181 to digitize my data. i build the circuit which seems fine according to the datasheet of ADC, but i get output as 000. and the REFOUT pin has 0V rather than having 1.5V. is there any problem with my circuit? i have attached my circuit here. Please help.

N is possible to export my didgitized data to text file?

Hello,

The problem here is the MAX1181, this is a layout-only component. This component can't be used for simulation because it does not contain a SPICE model. In the Component Browser you will see that model field is empty:

In Multisim there are three categories of components: virtual, real and layout-only. Refer to Understanding Multisim's Component Colors for more details.

Unfortunately I couldn't find a model for this component.

thank you for your prompt reply.

if not LM1181, can u suggest any other ADC (flash or propagation type) with conversion time of 2-3nanosecs that i can simulate?

Hello,

In Multisim there are two virtual ADCs that you could try: ADC and ADC16. They can be found in the Mixed Group, ADC_DAC Family. They are not real components, but they can be used in the simulation.

Hope this helps.
