Two of our developers have been working A LOT with LabVIEW 2010 SP1 on Windows 7 in the past months. They have found it to be in their experience very unstable.
The most prevalent problem they’ve seen is that LabVIEW will simple abort and completely disappear when attempting to load or unload a Vi from memory. (This could be via VI Server or simply just opening Vis statically in the development environment). Just this morning LabVIEW crashed when attempting to save a VI and when trying to open the icon editor. Sometimes LabVIEW will tell them what happened with an error dialog upon reload but most often times not.
National Instruments AEs claim that SP1 is “very stable” and that the errors we’re seeing are most likely specific to our machines (Our laptops, and 2 customer computers). I have sent screenshots of errors along with time-lapsed video of these issues to NI but at this point we are unable to replicate the issue consistently. Has anyone else in Houston problems with LV2010 SP1 (and Windows 7)?
