For example, the built in serial ports on most computers have the windows serial driver that can only accept the standard baud rates: 110, 300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 14400, 19200, 28800, 38400, 56000, 57600, 115200, 128000, 256000 bits per second. This means that the VI_ATTR_ASRL_BAUD function will only accept the above values if using those boards.
If you use boards like the NI-843x which driver allows you to use non-standard rates, then you can use this function with ANY baud rate.
