What can be purpose/motivation for a student to learn about Quanser QNET HVAC? What are its applications?

Hello,
The HVACT is designed to teach and demonstrate the fundamentals of climate control. The system can be configured to use standard control methods such as on-off an PID control that are used in the process control industry. It also exposes students to using hardware (e.g., thermistor temperature sensors, simple heater), a DAQ (e.g., the NI ELVIS), and the LabVIEW software. All of these are used to some degree or another in the industry.
Hope this helps,
Mitch

Can we say that this trainer is used to model the HVAC system that is being used in big buildings and industries? If yes, how? That HVAC system used in industries is a very big/huge system and has multiple parts and also its process has multiple parts, especially as the name indicates, heating, ventilation and air conditioning ,but if we consider our this HVAC trainer, how ventilation is being implemented?

The QNET HVAC includes a heater and fan to cool. It doesn't have "AC" as there is no coolant, so it can't emulate that. However, the on-off control that is supplied is a very real-world example of control as is used to maintain the temperature of a room (i.e. furnace going on/off). So it does have some practical significance in that respect.
Given the heat is being radiated and cooled with a fan, the actual process is fairly high-order. The material supplied shows a simple way to model/identify a transfer function of the system. This can later be used to design a PID-based control, which is the one of the most common control methods used in industry.
Do you currently have a QNET HVAC?
Hope this helps,
Mitch

I have access to QNET HVAC during weekdays

"Given the heat is being radiated and cooled with a fan, the actual process is fairly high-order"
Here what do you mean by actual process? Do you mean our this QNET HVAC or the actual HVAC system that is used in industry and buildings?

Both. The QNET HVAC, of course, simpler as you can use a simple linear model when it's used within a operating range (i.e., temperature range). This is highlighted in the courseware that is supplied with it.
