How do I include DataPlugins into a package?

I'm specifically interested in this one: https://www.ni.com/en/support/downloads/dataplugins/download.ni-dataplugin-for-matlab--mat-files.htm...

which has a self-extracting .zip file http://ftp.ni.com/pub/gdc/epd/niusimatlab_1.5.07212.exe 

unpacking that leads to a "setup.exe", which isn't the "Install.exe" that NI Package Builder wants.

We (NI) are converting the DataPlugins into packages. In the future there will be a separated category in NI Package Manager named "DataPlugins", where you could search/download/install the dataplugins and built into your own feed through Package Manager. 

We are hoping to get this done in the next few months.
