Did you mean:

NIPM available on Chocolatey

I have another concern now, let's say that I have installed NI-Visa 19.0 on my computer. I would like to upgrade my package to the latest version available on the NI website (which is currently version 21.0). I have tried with the command line:

nipkg.exe upgrade --accept-eulas ni-visa

But as a result, I get the following:

ni-visa is not installed or is not upgradable. No operation will be performed.

Any workaround that you could think of?

Thanks again.

NI keeps each major.minor release of it software in its own feed. So you will need to add the new versions feed, run nipkg.exe update to have the local "cache" to get the new version information, then you should be able to upgrade via the upgrade command.

Hi Maxime, sorry being late to this thread. NI does not expose a way to discover feeds paths, but we do try to follow patterns between products but especially for new versions, and in general nipkg and NIPM only know about what is registered. Loved seeing the quick help from CL_eisenwr and cbutcher, thanks. Hope you can move forward with your project.

Is it still this way? if so, does NI have any plans to fix this?

This seems like a huge PITA.

Does NI actually use it's own products? Because if they did, I can't imagine them thinking this is a good idea. I say that from a user's perspective. Maybe there's some reason on NI's side that's hidden from the rest of us that makes the current way things are seem like a good idea. I at least hope there is, because otherwise I have no idea what NI is doing any more.
