Running NIPM without admin rights

Is it possible to run NIPM without admin rights? I'm contemplating using it to redistribute reuse code, but requiring admin privileges every time a user would install or remove a package causes some issues.

I am pretty sure you cannot currently. There is an idea under consideration for it right now. You may want to kudo it if you have not already.

Does anyone know of a workaround for running NIPM without admin rights?

I don't want to install packages, but I would like to be able to see what packages are installed, as well as download packages and dependencies for offline installation.

It seems like I should be able to run NIPM without elevated privileges until I try to install something.

Have you tried using the command line interface? That would let you list the installed packages from the normal user permissions.

nipkg.exe list-installed
