Feature request: Display information about type of the adapter server

Hi,

In the bottom right corner of the Sequence editor window (or in other place if you find more suitable) please display information about type of the adapter server.

For example for LV Adapter it would be information about whether Adapter is set to wok with LV Development System, LV Runtime Engine or other executables. For HTBasis Server it would be HTB Runtime Server or HTB Development Server.

During the development I have to often switch between LV Dev environment and RTE. To do that you have to click three times to go trough modal window to get this information. If you do this often it's getting painful.

I would stay away from the lower-right corner because that is where the progress bar is.
The tricky part is that current adapter configuration really is information about EVERY adapter configured (which is more than can be displayed in a small location), so we need to understand context of steps selected, which means have that information about configured adapter on the step module settings tab.

Or, maybe we can improve the Adapter Configuration dialog so it gives some information in a description field so we don't need to click as deep into the menu to get information.

The thing is I really don't want to add ability to confuse "adapter configruation for this station" with "override settings for adaper configuration" (example -- I can configure a step to always execute with LV RTE, but I can't see that easily either without going a few menus deep and I don't want that configuration to get confused too easily with my station configuration).

OK, understand. My request can be confusing though.

However, I still think that there is value added in my idea. Maybe we can have it as a caption  when we hover over the Adapter selector combo box? I'd really like to avoid digging this information out from under three modal windows. Moreover, if you even configure the step to override the settings of the LV adapter, the main adapter settings are set anyway. So it'd be really good to have a way to read them quicker.

BTW: Warren_scott Could you please tell everyone on our forum what is the name of this advanced technique you used to produce the picture you attached? For me it looks like a mixture of poor quality photocopier with a cartridge about to finish, hand painted lines - using not really even ruller - , and hand-crafted shadows. Nowadays, it looks like ART! 🙂

it's all just Microsoft Paint.
Stretch the picture, draw some more lines to kinda make it look right, add text, and draw a yellow box with "pencil" fill type to give it semi-transparent highlight.
