In order to do some troubleshooting I just tried to put a development suite on a deployment system. When it installed it skipped DVD 2. When it rebooted it said it was checkng NI for updates but never said it was loading files. This went on for 45 minutes until I stopped it.
Did I get a develpment suite loaded. There is no icon for TestSTand on the desktop?
Thanks,
jvh

Are you sure that the NI updater wasn't blocked by a firewall ? Unfortunalety the updater doesn't seem to have a timeout in such cases. IIRC there is a checkbox to switch off the updater somewhere in the installation process.

Hi jvh,
There are a few ways you can check to see if TestStand is installed.
1. If you have Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) installed: Open MAX and look under the software section on the left and TestStand should be listed there if it is installed.
2. From the Start Menu: All Programs»National Instruments»TestStand X.X»Sequence Editor.
3. You can open the NI License Manager and it will be listed there. Start»All Programs»National Instruments»NI License Manager.
4. You can also go into Add and Remove Programs from the control panel and look under National Instruments Software.
Hope this helps!

Also: running the TestStand Version Selector is a good way to determine which versions of TestStand are installed. The TestStand version selector is located in "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\TestStand Version Selector" or you can get to it from the start menu by going to Programs -> National Instruments -> TestStand <Version> -> TestStand Version Selector.
