We recently had some problems with connecting network shares due to insufficient IRPStackSIze (error message: "not enough server memory available...".)
On the same systems we also had intermittent problems with remote executions. Is there any known connection between the IRPStackSize and the ability to make DCOM calls?

Hello, no known issues to report. Are there more details?

Actually, no, I do not have more detail yet. I just know that communication with Remote Engines sometimes fails in these systems but I do not yet have an idea, why.
Therefore I was trying to determine whether DCOM calls require IRP slots in order to find out if this is a direction worth investigating.

Hi Peter,
I´m afraid we can´t investigate anything without specific information, error codes et cetera.

Hello Marco,
this was not meant as a request for an investigation into a bug or something.
I was so far unable to find any definitive information about consumption of IRP stack slots by DCOM remote procedure calls; therefore I put this question to those people I know to have the most knowledge of DCOM and of the product in question, namely the TestStand users and developers.
Sorry to have caused confusion.
Regards,
Peter
